Jefferson Parish still has them. See them in most bars and a few restaurants...never seen one in a gas station though.

Does anyone know if the parishes chose to keep or remove them?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the parishes were given the choice.

plenty of nights i have won enough to cover my tab.

Hell i was with my day at Harrys Corner Bar in the quarter at 2am after an LSU game. He hit a royal flush and they had to call the owner to wake up and unlock the back to pay us out. it was hilarious.

We used to have them at a restaurant I worked at. The manager would wait until the guy came and collected the money and gave him a printout from the machine. Once the machine had taken in $2000, my manager would put in $500 and then hit a $500 and $400 jackpot in no time at all. I watched him do this several times a week. His system didn’t always hit, but it did most of the time.

Funny that BR has 3 casinos but says no to video poker

Could be to funnel people to the casino

Same reason why they outlawed bar room Texas hold 'em tourneys. Still pisses me off. It was good times.

Local option. 33 parishes voted them out. Technically it is illegal for a "gas station" to have video poker, but given certain criteria they can be licensed as "truck stops," which is an absolute joke.

You ain't living until you go get some eggs and milk and crank out a video poker session.
