Well, looks like the miserable butthole was located.

Ironic virtue signal right there.
You felt the need to tell us about your beliefs regarding the order of the universe and therefore implicitly your views on the origins of virtues and then explicitly your views about expression of an aspect of same, and implied in all of this, that your views are superior to those whom you consider less virtuous than yourself.
Good work. I pray your random collocation of atoms and "chance" bless you on this subjectively maybe glorious maybe not day.

Is this christian virtue signaling? I'm not an believer, but I say merry christmas during christmas. I don't go out of my way to be an a-hole. What going on with the SJW behavior?
I say it to everyone...it makes it easier to identify the thin-skinned pseudo-intellectual by their response.

I remember being slightly caught off guard the first time I heard it (many years ago), I guess because it was different from what I was used to ... and maybe it did strike me as overtly religious. I still don’t hear it all that often, and it’s not something I think to tell people myself.
But I can also honestly say that the vast majority of people who have said it to me have said it warmly, sincerely, and with a big smile. It seems essentially the complete opposite of what should be offensive. They’re not asking if you know Jesus, or trying to get you to convert — they’re wishing for you to encounter things that are positive and valuable to you. It doesn’t necessarily have to be about Christianity either.
I mean, lots of people say “Bless you” when another person sneezes, regardless of their personal beliefs (or lack thereof). I think we all know it’s purely a cultural holdover from a more superstitious era and doesn’t actually affect anyone’s health, but we still do it to be polite and show concern for others.
Assuming your question is genuine, all I can say is try not to read anything more into it than somebody trying to succinctly wish you a really, really, really nice day. I suspect it’ll bother you a whole lot less.

how would you feel if they said "have a fricked up day"?

Exactly. I view it with a sign of respect for fellow human beings. Regardless of your belief, if you wish to express positivity towards me with words representing your beliefs...that tells me you respect me and are genuine with me.
People should be able to express themselves from their core beliefs in their way, regardless of what another's belief is and vice versa. Then go on about your own business, it absolutely does not matter whether they believe something different than me.
Op is going to have a miserable life with his current mindset.

I actually have the same response and I hear it often up in this neck of the woods. It strikes me that they are religious and honestly I am not so much. But I appreciate their thought and applaud their higher devotion and am not inclined at all to be negative.

Do you know “adios” pretty much means “go with God”?
Someone is giving you a good sentiment as they say goodbye. Regardless of your belief just accept it and move on.

I'm not offended; "have a blessed day" is irritating. I'm not going to argue about this with anyone. I just want to know why?
I will offer my constructive criticism. This is not helping christians because it's reinforcing perception that christians acting like hypocrites. You go nuts when you hear "happy holidays" at christmas time, but I get that "merry christmas" is a traditional greeting of the biggest holiday on the American calendar.
However, christians think it's appropriate to say "have a blessed day" year round. Look, I know I'm in the minority opinion on this particular issue and I'm not going to win this battle. I can deal with "have a blessed day." It's irritating but it's not offensive . You can say what you say.
I'll just end by saying this is a temporary irritation for me, which I'll get over. I ask rhetorically; how far will you continue to act hypocritically and not taking responsibility when a non christian calls you out for being a hypocrite?

I’m an atheist but don’t have a problem with a believer wishing me well in their own way.

I agree with you. It's fake and hollow.
It's mostly women who will turn around and cut you off in traffic or run over you with a shopping cart.

I can picture you over there in the hole you dug for yourself, positively aghast that we didn’t all come here and agree with you and validate your jackass attitude.
Have a blessed day.
Have a blessed day.
