Didn't that place sell pre-ban underage pornography back in the 1990s? I swear they had some shite on the magazine rack that had to have been grandfathered in.
For some reason I remember something like this. I know there was something porn related that you could get there... But don't recall the details.

Like I said, I don't recall details.. And it wasn't until he mentioned something about it that I remembered, but I just remember people talking about going there and there was something porn related and it was just sort of out in the open...

When, um, a certain type of porn whose name I won't type was banned, existing examples of it were "grandfathered in". Paul Reubens (a.k.a. Pee Wee Herman) successfully beat criminal charges by invoking this grandfather clause, for example.
As for Tiger Truck Stop, my recollection is that they retained a large enough inventory of this shite that they were still selling it pretty conspicuously as late as the mid-1990s... which seemed really weird to me.

Wait wait wait...elaborate on this. You are saying underage porn was allowed in the 90s? I’ve never heard of something like this. I can’t fathom that kiddie porn was ever legal, right? That’s so fricked up

It was banned in the 1980s, I think, but what was produced prior remains legal, as far as I know. Apparently Tiger Truck Stop stocked up and was still selling it at least 10 years later.
At least, that is my distant, disturbing memory.

Heading west on i10 just past the bridge and saw their billboard. The only thing it says is "Our Tigers lived longer". I'm sure this isn't a new billboard but that's really fricked up. Seems like a bunch of trash at that place anyway.
Which one? His Tiger was 17 years old. If I did my math right, Make 1 lived about 22 years, Mike 2 died after 1 year due to an unexplained injury, Mike 3 lived 19 years, Mike 4 16, Mike 5 18, Mike 6 11, Mike 7 TBD but he is nearly 3.
I'm thinking with exception of an accident and cancer they lived to roughly the same age. 2 Mikes 2 years or more longer 2 Mikes +- 1 year. 1 was 2/3 of the age and succumbed to cancer which was totally unrelated to the the environment he was in. 1 Tiger with a questionable end of life out of 6. And nobodies pet was eaten.

Yeah that seems a bit stupid seeing as how they don’t have the resources to take on LSU.
That’s like a mosquito taking on an eagle. It’s pretty much pissing in the wind.

I know what I saw with my own two eyes.
Legally, you made me Google some shite I didn't want to Google, but I'll tell you what I found.
There were no laws whatsoever relating to age and pornography in the USA before the late 1970s.
In 1984, a guy named Adolf Meyer was apprehended crossing the US-Mexico border with obscene images of a 15-year-old. He successfully beat the rap on the grounds that the images in question were produced before such things were banned.
So the feds hadn't even effectively criminalized importing this stuff into the country as late as 1984. Do you really find it that implausible that I (a man of almost 50 years) saw a place like Tiger Truck Stop selling such things?
I'm talking about material that was legal when produced. It was not being mailed or crossing state lines.
Did I approve of its sale, or buy any? No. But you're deluding yourself if you think that there wasn't enough legal gray area for this stuff to be sold, or that a place that keeps exotic animals in a fenced-in enclosure on I-10 wouldn't sell it.

Stepped in that place once to grab a road beer. Won’t make that mistake again. frick that guy.

I know no one will agree with me... because. well.. Its me, but it is really kind of creepy how you come around when my name is mentioned or when I post. Do you joxy my name to see when someone brings up my name so you can jump in the thread an add your 2 cents (and I am sure you will make a jump joke).
Like I said, I know everyone thinks its funny because its me and that's just the cool thing to do, but you really do get kind of creepy with it.

bullshite. You sure know a lot about this for someone who didn’t buy any.
That place has one of only two public shitters I’ve ever refused to sit on. I straddled their crapper because the entire bathroom was so disgusting. And that was in the midst of a raging GI upset on a return trip from Houston.
I don’t care about what animals he owns, that
place is nasty.
