Horses have been sources of transportation, farm cultivation, pleasure, sport, entertainment, battle, etc. They have brought a lot more to the table than just the taste of their meat and have earned the right not to be a food source for us.

Plus, they all have names. That's just weird.

Horses have better personality than half of all people.

I will not eat it out of respect and admiration for the species.

... if only there were a positive stigma associated with it.

I like that the horse lover in this thread is the only one who gave a valid reason why horses aren't eaten

Clearly you haven't spent a lot of time around them. You can't always make them do what you want

This is my beef with horse slaughtering for consumption. You go quartering up a horse that isn't thoroughly bred and raised for food purposes you're not going to get very long in the tooth. This might paint horses and their care in a negative light but we have to use lots of drugs on them that are bad for people to consume

I ate it a few times in China, and honestly it's tough as shite and not all that tasty. It's like well done steak. You're not missing out.

And I'm being honest here, donkey tastes much better than horse. A place down the street where I lived made a good donkey roll, and I was a fan.

I mean, there is a bond that forms. So... Kinda? I do guarantee that there are horses that only a select few can ride well.

I just know nobody else ever wants to ride mine
