Boomers have earned their way and CAN retire. Now you slackers have no one to support you.

unemployment was 3.6% last month, which is about as low as it can get.

Except when you add in the 5% drop in labor participation rate. Which brings unemployment back up to a REAL number of 8.6%

Boomers ran up the debt. They should be forced to work to pay it off instead of passing it on to the next generation. Damn shame all the Gen XYZ's are gonna be peasants because of them.

This! Currently experiencing this like so many other parents. I made it clear this is only temporary

remember when you all argued with Mingo for like 20 pages because he said labor shortages wouldn't just end after the government assistance ran out and that other market forces were at play?

maybe y'all owe Mingo an apology?

Shocking that a bunch of dudes that work in a plant, didn't go to college, and get their information from InfoWars and the Poli Board were short sighted on a very complex issue.

They'll get the next one though

I missed this one but I think I could have gone toe to toe with you. I have no idea what your credentials are but I'm not a plant worker (no offense to plant workers of course. We need them badly).

Unemployment is still as low as it has been since 2000

Well, it's been 18 months since the last stimulus check, and just about that long since the upped unemployment benefits so now answer the question.

Are the monthly childcare stimulus checks not still going out?

1million died of Covid - PROVE IT & put that stat next to other flus and virus death rate numbers over the years.

All regular causes of death went down while Covid spiked, yeah, I believe that

As soon as anyone is blaming Covid death rates for anything, loses all credibility.

You know what, you're right. Nobody ever died because they got covid. Not a single person.

We had a COVID death not long ago. I keep hearing the numbers are starting to creep up again. I don't follow the news, so I have no idea. It'll be good for my bank account though if it does.

"Labor Shortage" Explained in a minute.

5-15/hr - Cannot find workers
20-25/hr - Can find workers
30-40/hr - All jobs are filled.

Trucking: There is no driver shortage - what there actually is can be called a 'respect shortage' by the companies that hire/train new cdl drivers. If you look up the numbers of these companies you'll see their driver turnover % is ABOVE 100%, meaning they have to hire more drivers than stay with them for one year - the reason? Respect. They don't treat them like human beings, they are referred to as a truck number. They are not given routes to keep them busy. They are not given wages or benefits that are competitive with the rest of the industry, and it shows because while their drivers are paid half of what the rest of the industry pays - their CEO's love to show off the new buildings and facilities they construct all over the country while buying out other companies. Also, the industry itself sucks arse - truck stops have started charging $20 to park and the companies are not paying or reimbursing that expense - imagine $140/week of your pay gone because of this. The truck stops have replaced restaurants with shite fast food and it's just not worth it to risk you health eating that crap all the time, meanwhile more and more WalMarts are putting up barricades to keep truckers out, so there goes a lot of the fresh food that drivers want to eat instead of crappy burgers and Subway. Do I need to even go into how the average American drives these days and how incredibly unsafe the industry is?

The trucking industry sucks, that is the REAL reason why there's a "driver shortage".

No, it doesn't. And even if it were new, it's like $160 a month
