I have tons of change right now. Probably in the 1K range. The only way I have to cash it in is to take it to Publix and use the machine which keeps like 5% of the total. Just dumb Banks have not wanted to take it so I just keep pilling it up

Idk what yall are Talking about with this stuff, my bank will take my change and count it for me and everything. Rolled or unrolled

We just drove 3 trillion dollars in to the economy and didn’t balance it with coins.

The only coins that have actual value were minted prior to 1964 due to their melt value. Everything minted after that offers no protection against hyperinflation and is only worth face value.

Hoarding modern coins is funny.

What other cards have a minimum requirement to charge $250k a year to even qualify?

Why count coins? Just weigh them.

The two Capital One branches near me won't do it.
I guess they have to still do it for their business customers, but it's very chickenshit of them to not offer it to all customers.

Why are you still paying for things with paper money?

It's 2020.

People aren’t spending as much in general, especially in cash.

this part is wrong. In order for the coins to have been dispersed to the public, causing a shortage, means that cash has to have been spent. The issue is that people are getting change and likely not cashing it in at the bank, where it can be distributed back to the stores.

I can't think of a single reason to carry cash.

Even tipping can be done on a tablet in most places. At the very least by receipt. Most self-serve car washes even have card readers.

Cash transactions are virtually useless.

There isn’t a shortage. Businesses say that so their employees don’t have to handle dirty arse money.
