Technological advancement has blessed us with a lot of things, but consistently functioning soft serve machines isn't one of them.
Those things are extremely unreliable and broke at least 3-4 times a week when I worked at Sonic during high school.

When I worked at McDonalds 20+ years ago we had to break down the ice cream and shake machine for cleaning every night.
They took forever to clean which is why we didn't leave the store until a couple hours after the store closed.
Seems like now they clean them early so they can have it cleaned by the time the store closes.
