So do pigs
Down voters never raised a pig. Pigs are incredible animals. To bad they taste so great.

Because you can't train a pig to get you a beer out of the frig.

I’ll bet it has more to do with the quality of meat than anything else.

How about we add cows to the list. They can feel pain as well, no?

Why is okay to eat pigs but not dogs
Just another arbitrary thing, like how our society locks women in cages for blowing 16 yr olds. I’d love to see dog burgers on the menu.

I’ve seen both being cooked in China. Pig looks tasty, dog looks like a huge rat. I’ll stick with the pig.

I know a guy with a pet pig and its awesome. It is house trained and has a ton of personality. He lights up when he gets home from work and loves to get petted like a dog.
Their personalities are very much like dogs. Playful, loyal, smart, etc.
They are not going to defend their owners by any means and aren't great at taking commands like a dog, but they are smart nonetheless.
Certainly this can happen, but that pig has been played with since it was a piglet. I don't think there is a single breed of pig that will be like that if attempted from it's adult age. However, there are many dog breeds that can become friendly at an adult age, even if they have been in a pin or a stray for most of their life.
That is what I meant by nature. Dogs are generally freindly by nature, where as, pigs have a natural instinct that is not exactly friendly. It's not that they are mean, but they're number one priority in life is to eat.
