Why is it so hard for grown men to make coffee after they drain the pot?

It takes 30 seconds to set a new pot to brew so that the next guy doesnt have to set the empty pot to brew and wait 4 minutes. I can never catch who is draining the pot without brewing, I think it is some of the plant guys who come in here. Out of an office of 20 coffee drinkers it seems most don't know how to work the machine. My intern is out this week so I'm having to deal with this first world problem myself.

If anyone knows how to refill a coffee pot, it’s a plant operator. All they do is drink coffee and bs with each other
