Why is Investigation Discovery / Murder Porn so popular?

I've found that it's become a go to for my wife and I along with many others.
Is it just a way to tune out?
No politics etc.
Thoughts on IDs seemingly growing popularity over last several years.

I read Dave Cullen’s Columbine. a while back, and it was a combination of electrifying and incredibly sad to delve into the psychotic pathology of cold blooded killers. Also, it was fascinating reading deconstructions of the myths surrounding Harris and Klebold.

I read the other day that ID is the most consistently watched channel. As in, people can sit and watch it longer than any other channel without interruption.
Some of the shows suck but a lot of them are entertaining. Except the one with Rod Demery. That dude sucks.. I’m sure some Shreveport baws on here know him

Real life is better than fiction. Especially the crazy stories on ID. Their newer shows have gotten better. ID channel played on my cable all the way in Douala, Cameroon.

I used to play hide the body with my gf, one thing I did learn is that dragging a body to the dumpster isn't easy.
