Probably because I can fly R/T to London from BTR for just over $1K. No idea what domestic legs are costing these days, but I’ve booked Hawaii and London in the past 6 months. Both right around $1K. I’ll bitch about pricing with everyone else, but that’s pretty damn cheap comparatively. Wife and I did a London trip 20 years ago. Two tickets plus like 4 nights in a London hotel cost us $2500 back then.

IDK but flying since the pandemic started has been a headache. At least we don’t have to wear masks.

Airlines are getting better at using technology to run and predict flight patterns and selling tickets dymaically. So, they cutting flights and getting more tickets sold per flight.

10 full flights will bring a higher profit than 20 half full flights.

The airlines have given up any attempt at customer service. Now, it's all about profit. If soemthing happens (weather, etc) and it results in a bunch of cancelled flights and people can't get a new seat for 6 days? Oh well, what are you gonna do, walk home?

I was thinking about taking a weekend trip to North Dakota this summer to hike in Theodore Roosevelt NP.

Flights to Bismarck ND were around $1,000 round trip. This was with just one layover through DFW. Wtf

Smaller planes. The airline industry has adopted the Cane's strategy.

Well that makes me feel a little better at having to fork over $600 to fly to BR from PHX

It’s crazy because $1,500 got me on a multi-city route through Europe last summer

Domestic traveling sucks right now

I fly for business all over the US (predominately on Delta), and the flights have been mostly full to full for quite some time now.

Airlines are not running fat anymore. The fuel prices have made them actually have to watch the bottom line.

My dad retired from Delta and his free passes are basically useless now

I fly for business and know how much I’m paying for flights through the company. It boggles my mind how some of these people can afford to fly. Granted I don’t buy airline tickets for personal use as we usually just drive, but are the flights that much cheaper?
