It is the coffee, not the doughnuts. They are strong in the Midwest as well as the northeast.

Donuts are better than kk and coffee is better than Starbucks.
Most places don't have good local donut shops that are convenient, so you have a choice of dd or kk.

They no longer make their donuts in house. They are baked in warehouses and shipped to the stores now. I have no clue how they stay in business as most areas have local donut shops that offer much better options.

Its their coffee. Its really good coffee.
And krispy kreme sucks for someone who wants a DOUGHnut. Its just a small circle of pure sugar. There is no substance.
Now, if you like candy for breakfast, I completely understand liking Krispy Kreme.

Coffee is decent, especially the dark. DD coffee has traditionally appealed to people who don't really like anything more than extremely mild coffee. DD dark roast is like a decent coffee maker's light-medium roast.

Krspy Kreme did not cut it in La Crosse Wisconsin. They built a brand new one about 5 years ago and it closed within a year.

I buy the coffee on Amazon and make it stout in my home coffee maker.
