Drinking alone is one of the first signs of alcoholism.

I drink beer alone all the time, got the wife and kid at the house. If I get to the golf range, bar, fishing etc etc etc I always knock a few back.

Plus I mow the lawn alone and get shite faced dang near every time I do it, there's something about mowing and drinking.

What if I don't like being around people and still want a beer?

And don't forget my cat is there too.

Medically speaking, you need to have, 3 out of about 5 or 6 signs to be considered an alcoholic.

If it's good enough for George Thorogood, it's good enough for me.

Actually it's a sign that you are an introvert. I generally don't hang out with anyone except my wife and kids, and I never drink around them. So I drink alone, because I like to drink and I don't like to socialize.

It isn't. Getting drunk alone is.

Why? You’re just wasting alcohol if you quit before the buzz

Nothing wrong with it unless you regularly get hammered by yourself.

I love having a glass of wine alone at the bar while I wait for takeout. Sometimes I even wait until I get there to order so there's time for 2 glasses.

I do it all the time. In fact so much that it’s impossible because now I’m just one of the regulars that knows everyone almost everywhere I go.

as a person that travels for work, i enjoy the hell out of getting trashed alone in a hotel lobby watching sports.

sometimes some other fellow travelers will do the same and it's fun to meet people traveling from different places.

unless they want my alcohol.

I've tried drinking alone and I actually don't really like it. Drinking makes me social. When I'm alone I'd rather be sober reading/watching/doing stuff I like. To each their own.

Now that I am a married man, this is the primary way I drink. Saturday night, she goes to bed early, me and my Bourbon have a party with Netflix.
