You would think that southern people, who are ostracized for atrocities with which they have nothing to do, would empathize more with American Muslims.

Out of 200 million Muslims in the world, that's tens of millions.

Try closer to 1 billion

I think his point is to illustrate that even if you divide the Muslim population by 10 and give it a very conservative estimate on the number of actual Muslim extremists, it is still a highly disturbing statistic. Going by the most conservative estimates, the Muslim world as a whole still has no place in modern society and has to be stopped.

Even if you're right, that's 400 million people who are willing to kill us and our ideals. Are you actually comfortable with the statistic that 400 million people wish to send us back to the stone age, and may have the means of doing it?

I´m not a fan of them in general, in their own countries (professionally, I´ve dealt with beaucoups), but it is a shame.

Because the stated goal of Islam is to conquer and subjugate the entire world in submission to Sharia law.

I have. It's not as bad as you think.

Yeah, it takes a while to get used to a lot of the women being covered up, but I never felt in danger. Also had to drink privately so as to not offend anyone, but those were the biggest hurdles. That, and the flies.

But you're a male, and though you didn't realize it, still a second class citizen. Muslim countries have been tolerant of others living there, but they've never been inclusive in the way America or European society at large has been.

They don't openly support it, you dimwit. Their society is simply not evolved enough to overcome it yet.

I believe in raw numbers and statistics. If performed accurately, they do not lie. It is a fact that Islamic people and countries on average perform more atrocities than other countries.

The average Southerner doesn't want a person dead for converting to Atheism or want society to go back to a slave state. It's a completely ridiculous comparison compared to the extremes of the Islamic World.

I am a little disgusted at vitriol directed towards Middle-Easterners. All the Lebonese people I know are cool, and my smoke shop dude (Zahid) are all cool as frick. Granted, Zahid is non-religious.

Well I certainly didn't expect to be treated like someone who grew up there, but on numerous occasions I was offered more food by the locals than the standard Egyptian sees in days. They kept reiterating that hospitality is a right, not a gift.

There are good Muslims and there are bad Muslims. I guess I interacted with the good ones, but it sure seemed like there were an awful lot who were very welcoming and inclusive. Just don't beat them in soccer. They don't like that.

W99.9% of Muslim Americans are peaceful citizens that dont want violence on anyone, let alone some of their faith using their faith to inflict harm on others

The percentage of Muslims that wish to harm peaceful citizens in the name of Islam is greater than the percentage of non-Muslims that openly supoort discrimination on all Muslims.
