Makes certain segment of our country angry it seems.
Perhaps there’s a part of that segment that posts here.
I’d like to get their opinion on the hate.
I think it's dumb as frick for them to mix their politics/bigotry with business. That said, I don't eat there because the food isn't good.

They don't though, not really. Their politics make no bearing on their business outside of not working on Sundays, which is much more than just religious reasons. Ownership makes statements and you know their stances, but their stances do not change how they are running their business, who they are serving, etc.

The minute "ownership" decides to make public statements about very political issues that are personal to a lot of people, they are mixing.

They don't do this. At all.

Nah.
An owner simply stating his views isn't mixing business with politics. Or at least it shouldn't.
Mixing business with politics is when they act upon those politics.
There is a clear distinction that too many people try to conflate.

It was 1 comment, 6 years ago. But a business owner and executive should know how to deflect questions that can impact business. That said...Cathy DGAF. He's lapping the field at this point.
quote:
But Dan Cathy, president of the popular fast food chain Chick-fil-A, has done just that, saying on a radio show that “we’re inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage. And I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude that thinks we have the audacity to redefine what marriage is all about.”
Following backlash after those remarks, Cathy then told the Baptist Press in an article posted July 16 that he is “guilty as charged” and is very “supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit.”

Agreed. I guess you can kind of argue that them contributing to charitable organizations can kid of count. At the end of the day though, whatever their viewpoints are, it has no bearing on how their business is run or operates. They do not discriminate and treat everyone how you should be treated.
CFA gets too much hate for merely having their political views they have (and because of this they get a blowback of a ton of business/support form the other side when shite blows up that they don't really deserve. They've done nothing more than just have an opinion).

How did they "distance themselves"?
Their beliefs and practices sure as hell haven't changed. It was never "hateful" anyway, but that's irrelevant at this point.

It’s leaps and bounds above Popeyes that’s for sure. I’m all about Louisiana, but This time I’m siding with Chic Fil a. Popeyes service is God awful!

But they didn't do that either.
The whole "Chik-fil-a = bigots" meme started off because a Chik-fil-a location sold a catered meal to a group protesting gay marriage. They also sold meals to those protesting for gay rights. However, because they once did business with "bigots", the whole franchise was considered bigoted. When they didn't apologize, the SJW's boycotted CFA. However, the boycott actually triggered a counter-buycott where conservative types showed up in droves to buy as much CFA as possible. Their business sky-rocketed.
Basically, the idea that they are "political" is nothing but projection from supporters and detractors alike. All they do is sell chicken to people who want to buy chicken, and do so with impeccable service. That's it.

You would really enjoy their sandwiches if you were straight.

Well, actually, that's not all they did or do.
They often open on Sundays when there is a major crisis and an effort is underway to help people in need, such as during hurricane rescues or clean-ups, other natural disasters, or what-have-you.
They often not only open on the Sunday, they provide the food free of charge. Why is it laudable in the "elite" or "mainstream" press and all those sycophants for Starbucks to be totally and completely ate-up with SJWism, but not CFA or their ownership to hold THEIR views?
That's what's at the heart of some of this. CFA are bigots in "social media" because of what KingBob mentioned, but it's perfectly acceptable to these same agendized folks for the CEO of Starbuck's to say that "if you think gay marriage is wrong, don't buy our stock, or sell it if you already have it."
Whoooooooooooooo Boy, that's NOT "mixing" is it? That's "brave" or "woke" or "lit."

When I was helping a friend who flooded in Houston, Chick Fil A drove around giving free sandwiches, and they had a store in the area that got flooded. That was the best.

When a business is popular enough the owner’s politics don’t really matter. There are plenty of SJWs that still go to Chick Fil A and there are just as many MAGAs who shop on Amazon and binge Netflix while browsing Facebook.
