There's a difference between cheating and being "more prepared" than the other students.

Do you have any facts or data to back this up, or is this just another typical Tangerine thread where you fling shite at the wall in

Well for starters, in the frat thread, a couple of people talked about having copies of exams. Another spoke of a cousin attending the exam to help the fratsters out. I clarified the title. Happy?
Thank you very much.

Studied my arse off til I could rattle off WW2 dates, names, and places with no word bank for exams and still got A's.

Cheated my social life hard core a few semesters to get those grades. Dick is still pissed at me for that, but Brian isn't

This. I don't sit there with my phone in my lap during exams. But if I know there's copies of the test or test banks out there I'm going to get them. I'm just using everything I can to my advantage. And honestly if the professor uses the same test every semester and gives those tests back/gives students the opportunity to take pics of him he's an idiot.

I've done a whole bunch of bad shite in my life, but I can say that I haven't cheated once in my 130+ classes that I've taken so far. Well, I kinda did on a project, but I was retaking the class and used stuff from my project the previous semester I took the class.

High school was a different story though.

your stories of cheating the system.

"Well, this one time (maybe two), I really needed to win a college football championship so I could get back to the NFL. My fist stint as a NFL head coach didn't work out too well, but it obviously wasn't my fault (nothing ever is).
Anyways, I knew I needed a school with a good football tradition, but one that would look the other way so I could pay the athletes I needed to win. I mean, I wasn't going to stay in CFB forever! Plus, the school needed to have a fanbase compromised of half-witted sidewalk alum rappers and other semi-illiterates. A milquetoast AD would also be a plus.
I couldn't believe my good fortune when the USC job opened up! A "win" on all fronts! The rest is history! Well, kinda, 'cept we had to give back the trophies and the Hummers! LOL!"

Nice revisionist history by Washington & Lee

It traces back to the United States Military Academy, where Robert E. Lee attended, and straight up copied it for W&L

Having copies of previous semester exams is considered cheating?

I didn't cheat in college, definitely cheated in high school, but most of that shite was busy work that is irrelevant.

The only cheating that is more prevalent now I would think would be using adderall.

I would save notes for my classes that I could use my trusty TI-83 calculator and I would type notes into them for certain classes, but that is a tool they let us use and I just took advantage of all of the features offered by said tool. If I knew a professor used the same test every semester, you bet your arse I was going to get my hands on it and memorize the test. It wasn't cheating it was creative grade management, it is all about semantics.

When the teacher makes it clear exams are to be turned back in most certainly.
