Is it like the apartments they are building behind the Burbank Walmart?
That is gonna be so bad when it's full. I can see the foot traffic between there and Walmart now.

Is it actually in Central city limits or in school district boundaries?
Zoning for districts not within cities is a parish issue I think. Zachary fought one development, but they will keep coming.
Throw in typical corruption and requirements for various federal funds and no place is ever safe, but it would have been better to control zoning for the school district area. I don’t think they would have gotten district put to a vote without agreeing to larger size. Area probably included people who didn’t want to be incorporated but also knew eventually this would help them sell out due to school improvements.
One thing about ghetto culture is that it spreads like a virus when it’s pushed into areas without being earned. It then begins to kill off the tax payers/base who are required to pay their bills. Even the ones that they say they are trying to get away from crap still bring it with them. Until they pay for things themselves they don’t care which is true for trash and ghetto of any race. Thankfully we can call out the white trash, but with black trash it’s just keep moving.

You are moving from Geismar to Brookhaven? I would rather live in McComb. They recently got a Starbucks and a Chick-fil-A! lol
Actually our property is half way between MCComb and Brookhaven. East of the Bogue Chitto exit on 55. Close enough to both but still country. No flooding. No traffic. Low taxes. Win, Win, Win

Madison, MS did this I believe. Essentially you have to ban multi family housing and rentals.
Madison went way beyond that.

Developer kickbacks and tax revenue.
Yeah that jackass who built that concrete subdivision by Stabb's or whatever caused the two older subdivisions to completely flood out.
That new sub survived completely because he brought in massive amounts of dirt built it up about 10 feet high then put in streets with zero drainage except the drainage goes to the older neighborhoods.
His arse should have been sued.

Gonzales needs to do this.
Soon the new development at Hwy 44 and Hwy 30 will turn that area into a parking lot. Along with the new Ochsner hospital. Gonzales is not prepared for this. But the taxes cometh.

Sounds like Metro BR will be one giant ghetto pretty soon.

I hear you! Traffic in Ascension Parish is a nightmare

1 acre minimum lot size fixes everything

Gonna bring a lot more crime too. I really wish Ascension would stop all the development. Yeah it brings in a lot of money but it’ll bring a lot of bad too. I miss the old kind of country AP. Was more quiet and peaceful it seemed. Now I feel like I just live in a more country Baton Rouge.

Will y’all please decide whether you want small government or not?

fallguy, Central building way too much and can't handle the influx of traffic. The widening of Sullivan and the bottleneck of Hopper going in the Central awful. Not to mention shite traffic around walmart. Glad I'm out.
Agree with the dude to buy out the older houses build new ones that trash can't afford.
All that new building is enriching the council and school boards plus the builders plus teachers. Infrastructure sucks bad.

Hell crime is up all across Ascension Parish. We all know who's doing it. Their pictures plastered across social media. A lot of the perps are from EBR and surrounding Parishes.

I'm all for it but I just don't see it happening in that place. Central was an all white, working class suburb when I grew up there. It wasn't wealthy or anything. Plant baws and whatnot. There's nothing wrong with that but it's not likely to change imo and parts of it will get worse

The shite they're doing on Buddy Ellis is mind-boggling stupid.

Prior to Katrina, McComb was a nice, quiet, little town. Brook is still a nice town.

Central at least has higher standards. No DSLD or Horton.
All of the crackhead are from Central Woods. It's been there for over 30 years.
