Why don't parents hit their kids anymore?

Why have parents gotten so soft that they can't discipline their kids anymore? A kid on my flight literally screamed, hit his parents repeatedly on the plane without discipline. If this is you, go f yourself.

Idk. I was spanked as a boy, but the kids at my MS and HS who were hit by their parents into adolescence all went off their rocker and have damaged relationships with their parents.

I used to get spanked in the bathroom all the time if I acted up in a public place. My grandma used to use a switch as well. Some kids need spanked and some don't - all dependent on the kid. But they have to know there will be consequences for bad acts. And time out doesn't count.

Hitting kids doesn’t do anything positive, I truly believe that. If you need to hit a kid, they’ve already won. A kid can be easily controlled with other means. Those parents on your flight just have no control over their kid and the kid doesn’t respect them. My brother’s kid runs their house too, it is painful to watch.

I think gen x and millennia have more psych 101 degrees and think it’s a form of abuse. No longer understand allowing kids to act a fool is nothing but laziness. A little of those mixed with selfishness.

Lol. No. I had a lot of friends who got hit growing up and they never disrespected their parents—they feared them and secretly resented them.
Kids who hit their parents are just poorly led children who get no discipline.

It pains me to watch this crap. These are the type of kids who become bullies in school bc they always get what they want. Parents who can't discipline need to be limited to one or two kids max.

My dad hit 17 y/o me harder than I've ever been hit in my life. Still not sure how the man knocked me all the way across my room. My fight or flight reflex kicked in and I chose to run.
