Come out and try to declare peace and try to unite people? This divide is growing and someone needs to stunt the fueling of it. Or at least try to.

A President would usually be a good choice to do this, however, we aren't fortunate to have one that can lead and unite.

There is nobody widely respected enough.

All of our leaders are fricking terrible. Including the two running to replace the current shitty leader.

Someone get Jerome back up there

If that person is white they'll get labeled a racist. And the black people that attempt to say those things don't sound very sincere, Obama being a good example

Come out and try to declare peace

Can you suggest a few, or even one who could effectively pull this off?

This, there is not one voice that would be respected by both sides.

I was scanning channels this morning and stopped on the Ricky Smiley show to see what their take was with all of this. Yesterday morning they were full fledged cops are out of control, the black man is still oppressed, etc. This morning they were STILL talking about how they are treated differently by cops and how they're not going to comment until they know all the facts about the Dallas massacre. They actually said those words like there would EVER be a reason to snipe police officers. We're on the verge of something truly divisive I'm afraid.

God his address to the country would take 4-5 hours (plus black people don't listen to him).

Bill Clinton might be able to pull it off. He has the street cred in the black community.

Our current President is well positioned to do it, but he won't, because he's useless

Whoever can come in and bring peace to this race war would probably end up being the Antichrist.

He actually had a pretty strong statement.

President Obama called it "a vicious, calculated and despicable attack on law enforcement," in remarks delivered at the start of his trip to Warsaw, Poland.

Saying that he had spoken with Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, Obama said, "I believe that I speak for every single American when I say that we are horrified over these events, and that we stand united with the people and the police department in Dallas."

Obama added that while the "twisted motivations" of the attackers will surely emerge, "there is no possible justification for these kinds of attacks, or any violence against law enforcement."

I agree. Obama himself should come out and say cops, African Americans, whites, etc need to unite during a time like this, as it's the only way for peace.
