Why doesn't Louisiana have Publix or Wawa's?

Publix is just ok to me. I'm about 95% Kroger and 5% Publix (right by each other near me). I only go to Publix when I want their burgers.

Definitely a fan. Great coffee and if you are a flavored creamer guy they have a quart size creamer on hand instead of trying to open five little packets.
Make a good sandwich also and probably was the death nail for Subway in those areas.
Publix greater than Winn Dixie but will take a Rouses, Fresh Market et al over them. Although I'm a big fan of the Publix chicken tenders.

Same reason a lot of states don’t have Whataburger, their company just hasn’t decided to put a store there.

Wawa is just a high end regional gas station with cleaner bathrooms, better employees and better food/snack options than a typical gas station is LA. QuikTrip is better than wawa and Buckees is really a different model. Larger footprint more of a travel stop not an everyday gas station.

I used to enjoy a store called Aldi when I was in Ohio. Not sure about their footprint but I know we don't have them in Louisiana.

Publix prides itself on its fantastic customer service.

I’d wager that a huge percentage of posters on TD dont live in Louisiana... as a matter of fact, i know it to be true.. So a lot of us do have Publix, Wawa, or both.

Publix monopoly in FL. No Krogers. Weak Winn Dixie presence and Walmart; prices high. Nice staff, but I wanted good prices. TX has no Publix, I don’t miss them.
