I remember a broad white ring painted around the trunks in trees in the neighborhood when I was a child. The explanation was it allegedly kept the stinging caterpillars from climbing them, congregating, and falling on you making you think someone had dropped a Portuguese Man-O-War down your neck. That’s the Metairie Road version anyway.

You know, that’s how dogs evolved to be man’s best friend: eating scraps from trash piles and in return guarding their food source (humans) from predators.
Fast forward to the 20th century, marketing of bullshite dogfood took over claiming the 1,000 tradition was not healthy for dogs. Please.

It does. At least it does in our yard if goes long enough without rain.
FL sun plus no rain is the trick. So usually happens in winter, the dry season, over here.

The white depends on where you are at.
If it's just a white circle that usually means the tree was home to some animal.
Put completely painting the bottom of trees white is for the sun. White paint reflects sun light and sun can damage the tree bark.

It's because of the chem trails. It's keeps the turds from turning white and it also turns the friggin frogs gay!
