Remember last time an AR-15 escaped its owner's property and independently attacked a child? Me neither. Either my memory is bad or that is a very silly comparison.

My future SIL has a pit bull, and they swear up and down it's the most gentle dog ever, her nephews play with it all the time and the dog will actually try to hide to get away from all of it. I believe them, and it's fine, but no way in hell are my kids ever going to be alone and unsupervised around that dog. Ever.

all dogs kill people. And it mostly depends on how the owner brings them up. Of course the tards on here don't care about actual facts

The facts show that they kill people at a way higher higher rate than any other dog breed. Their breed shouldn’t exist.

you want actual facts?

Pit bulls make up only 6% of the dog population, and they’re responsible for 68% of dog attacks and 52% of dog-related deaths since 1982

Another report published in the April 2011 issue of Annals of Surgery found that one person is killed by a pit bull every 14 days, two people are injured by a pit bull every day

57 dog attack deaths & 645 disfigurements in 2017, led by pit bulls

Preliminary “final” 2017 dog attack data from the U.S. and Canada suggests some good news, in that “only” 989 dogs participated in killing or disfiguring humans, down from the 2016 record 1,075.

But the bad news is that those 989 dogs killed 57 people, 11 more than the previous record of 46 who were killed in 2015.

Pit bulls killed 39 people in 2017, 38 in the U.S. and one in Canada, a total of 11 more people than were killed by pit bulls in 2016 and five more than the previous record of 34 killed in 2015.

34 U.S. dog bite-related fatalities occurred in 2015. Despite being regulated in Military Housing areas and over 700 U.S. cities, pit bulls contributed to 82% (28) of these deaths. Pit bulls make up about 6.6% of the total U.S. dog population.3

2015 Dog Bite Statistics

quote:

Together, pit bulls (28) and rottweilers (3), the second most lethal dog breed, accounted for 91% of the total recorded deaths in 2015. This same combination also accounted for 76% of all fatal attacks during the 11-year period of 2005 to 2015. The breakdown between these two breeds is substantial over this 11-year period. From 2005 to 2015, pit bulls killed 232 Americans, about one citizen every 17 days, versus rottweilers, which killed 41, about one citizen every 98 days. In the year of 2015, the combination of pit bulls (28), their close cousins, American bulldogs (2), and rottweilers (3) contributed to 97% (33) of all dog bite-related fatalities. Both American bulldog fatalities occurred in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Annual data from 2015 shows that 41% (14) of the fatality victims were children ages 9-years and younger, and 59% (20) were adults, ages 22-years and older. Of the total adults killed by canines in 2015, 65% (13) were ages 60-years and older.

They seem to enjoy biting the faces off of young helpless children. But if you are ok with them, then hell yeah.
