According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary
My daughter had me quiz her on her vocabulary words and I about lost it over this revelation. A very important rule of language is that you cannot use a word to define itself.
WTF has happened to our academic society? You freaking lazy bastards!
What is the definition of black? Something black in color? Or something round? Something round in shape? OMG!!
Can you tell me any other words that define themselves besides spiral?
quote:

3 : something having a spiral form as: a : spiral galaxy b (1) : a spiral flight

S**t
Smells like s**t, looks like s**t, tastes like s**t = it is s**t.

OED, baw. It is more likely to satisfy your spiral into academia.

You should send them a harshly worded letter and include a correct definition that you first post here. If next year we see that it worked, that would bring you up from a 0 to a 0.3.
