Why does my "friend" do this.

Make plans and act as if they are so excited to get together and on text say they "Can't wait to see you!" then next day cancel. Saying something like, sorry, we decided to go somewhere else and then say "but let's get together soon!"
What's the point in the charade? I just don't get the motive.

I have had friends do that, and after the 2nd time. I found more dependable people to hang out with. To me, it sounds like you were a back-up in case something better didn't come along, which it did.

Never sticks around for a beer or two after golf.
Never shows up early to anything.
Never gets 5 ft away from her at functions.
We give this dude a hard time about it but he's such a pussy he accepts it for what it is.

She is female same as me. Doesn't hang out with anyone else. Just her husband and kids. She always contacts me and I agree to plans if I can but some of the time I have other plans and tell her that.
