Jackson has some nice areas, they just happen to be 30 miles outside the city limits

No exaggeration, there is ONE non chain restaurant in Flowood.
Ok. Now we are just making up straight lies. I get that Flowood is very chain heavy, but there are a number of good local places in the city limits of Flowood.

Because maybe some thugs snatched this girl, beat her up and set her on fire along side of a highway?
That was rural Mississippi, two hours from Jackson and closer to Memphis.

What are they? Only one I know is Table 100.

The inner city is horrible. Even the nice areas like Eastover and Fondren are declining.
That is just straight up wrong - Fondren is growing - hell, the Capri has been renovated into a legit cinema. Anyone who doesn’t know about The Capri can politely cease to post in this thread. As for Eastover? Check Realtor.com - there’s barely anything for sale there and what is available is hella expensive.

Its Baton Rouge if BR didnt have LSU, crossed with Montgomery.
They do have a lot of tornadoes too, in some of the shittiest chasing terrain outside of south Louisiana.

And Exxon, historically speaking. That was pretty yuge to the life and development of BR.

Off the top of my head
Grants
Eslava grill
Joes Diner
Soulshine Pizza
Kenova Smoke house
I never go to Jackson. It is a shithole. Terrible leadership. It has so much potential. Have you ever seen a city with a river running through it that can’t develop an entertainment district along that river? Hell even the Rez has enormous potential for an entertainment area and what do we have? Shaggys and Pelican.

Umm, nothing, much less an entertainment district can be developed on the Pearl River because of its flood plane. An equal distance of the Pearl flows through Rankin County and Hinds - has Rankin developed a Pearl River Entertainment District?
You bring up the Reservoir in a Jackson thread?? No part of the Rez touches Hinds County; that’s Madison and Rankin.
Edit: Since you mention water and entertainment let me remind you of John McGowan’s 3, then 2, then 1 Lake Project that was designed to create lakes on currently uninhabitable Pearl River flood planes in Hinds Co. The charge to kill these projects was led by the Rankin Co Levee board (I wonder why?).

El Torrero
Grant's Kitchen
Saigon
Amergio (this one has 5 locations so maybe you can call that a chain).
Cerami's
There are some other local places in Flowood that I am not sure if they are any good. But yeah, saying there is one nonchain is wrong.

From 2010 until now, Jackson Public Schools has gone from 31,000 students down to 20,000. The middle class, of all colors, has moved to safer suburbs and good, free public schools. Judges give criminals a “blessing” and send them on their way to commit more crime.

Never been to Jackson, and don't see much reason to go there based on these threads, but I'm sure it has nice suburbs, like any other city. Shoot, Philadelphia and Baltimore have nice areas, along with areas that would be slums in Haiti.
