Why do women grab you when they are scared?

Always puzzled me why whenever a girl gets scared she grabs your arm or clings to you. I thought it was cute, but honestly dumb. If you grab my arm or bear hug me, it makes it less likely I could do something to fight off what scared you.

Until you think about it scientifically. Being that it's a common trait across cultures, the act is something that arose from natural selection. Meaning females that had the grab trait lived while those that didn't, died out.

It's like the old joke with the punchline, "I don't have to outrun the bear, I only have to outrun you".

Women being weaker and slower would be more likely to die if something attacked and the guy ran away. So women who grabbed the guy, would keep him in the fight, and may be able to get away themselves once the guy started fighting what was attacking.

So I don't find it cute anymore, bitch is just trying to make sure that you don't get away and die before she does.
