Why do we insist on believing we are any different/better than any other animal on Earth?

Sure we may be more evolved or sophisticated or at the top of the food chain but at the end of the day we are just another animal on this planet and deep down we are driven by perfectly natural and instinctual motivations.

People always say this...now tell me how we KNOW no other animal has intelligence? Many species learn from one another. They mourn the loss of their mates/pack members etc. They clearly communicate. How do you define intelligence?

I'm not sure honestly. There's no way in hell that the most incompetent idiot of any heard in the animal kingdom could be put in charge of leading them. So in that respect we're definitely inferior to all animals.

We aren't. We have a choice in our behavior and still resort to murdering and beheading each other.
Animals do awful shite too but they don't try to justify it and are acting on instinct.

It's not that other animals aren't intelligent (scientists believe dolphins have a language, elephants mourn, etc.) We can observe scientifically that we are smarter.
