It was an absolute must have for my wife when we built our house. She uses it maybe twice a year.

Would have been better to have made that closet space

I stayed in a motel once in Southhaven, MS, tried the jacuzzi tub, thought "Wow, one of these jets blows right up my a-hole!"

Then I thought some more, "Wow, this jet blows right up EVERYBODY'S a-hole!"

It isn't practical for a good segment of people. The OP is right where crap like HGTV has brainwashed women and some men they need certain amenities in their house. I do recommend a Jacuzzi run for single men. I've used mine to seal the deal on more than a fee occasions

A regular tub only needs to be cleaned while you have to run vinegar and other cleaners through a jacuzzi monthly. And they are far more prone to leaks than a normal tub in my experience.

Been having one in my house over 20 years. Never had a leak.

Overall, PITA to keep clean. We will be replacing it soon with a big soaker tub. Love a very hot bath with a cold one in hand.

It’s crazier that you even got in a jacuzzi tub in a Southaven motel

damn sure is not useful for anything practical.

I would imagine those with small children would disagree with this. You gonna stand in the shower with your 3 year old to bathe them?

I had a soaker tub in my last house, and used it all the time. I loved to relax and read.

Current house has a large corner jacuzzi tub. It’s an awkward shape & requires a ton of water. I don’t like cleaning the jets, and feel wasteful filling it, so I’ve only used it a few times.

Simple...Because most families have kids, and kids take baths.

Women and children use them. They're fun to fart in

This.

I've lived in my house for 10 years and I can count on one hand the number of times I laid in the tub.

When I gut renovated my two bathroom house there was an old steel enamel tub from the 60s that I just left in place.

For the master bath I put in a clawfoot tub from the 1920s that I rescued out of a dumpster in New Orleans. My wife loves to lay in it.

I put a handset on it and that thing has been indispensable more times than I can count. It's great for bathing the kids and the dog and I use it every time my kids have a blowout, to hose off them and their clothes. In the summer, obviously you can take them outside hit them with the outdoor hose.

I would say this. Do a builtin shower and add a handset to it with a long arse hose. If the wife likes to soak in tubs then you're just stuck having to put a tub in.

We’ve had one for 4-1/2 years and I’ve never used it. From the start I wondered what bacteria could by living in the jet system. No thanks.

I'm 6'3 and can't fit it in the tub. We have a regular sized one and I'd almost be teabagging myself to use it. Bathroom remodel is #1 on the 2019 project list

I’m 6’6” (just got a few inches on you there, shorty) but had a large sized jacuzzi tub installed because I am very wealthy as well as very tall and handsome. My hot spinner wife loves to sex both in and out of it every day.

I would much rather have a big 6x6 walk in shower.

I've been looki g I to remodeling and exchanging the tub for a large steam shower with body jets and shite.

Much better for sexy time.

Master bath has a big walk in shower and a 6’ jacuzzi tub. Tub never gets used and is a dust collector. Guest/kids bath has a tub/shower combo.

Downside of the big arse tub is it empties the water heater. I fill it up and add a little Clorox to run through the jets every so often.

I've never seen a house that didn't have a tub. Is this something that's common where you are?
