Why do christians not do things like murder,cheat,steal? Because the 10 commandments command them not to or they will face eternity in hell with a devil sticking a pitchfork up their arse.
These concepts existed long before Christianity and are fundamental to a stable civilization. Moses, being an excellent King, codified them and promulgated them with a shot of god thrown in for good measure.
The invalidation of religion for whatever reason, would have no effect on the behavior of moral people.

Well considering we are just a type 0 civilization, you have to imagine there are many alien type 2-5 civilizations in the universe. No doubt they view us as primitive animals.
