A four lane road from the Sunshine Bridge to I 10 would be nice

Finishing 3127 from I-310 to I-10/ LA-415 connection would help some diverting the trucks going thru BR to NOLA.
It is a quicker and less expensive solution to reduce some traffic through BR.
It would also help once a new bridge is completed South of BR to handle the traffic flow on the Westside of the river.
I think at this point any progress in relieving traffic crossing the new bridge would be appreciated.

In 1998 Mayor Tom Ed McHugh and Sen. Richard Baker tried to build a southern bridge. It was shot down by the public.
Jan. 21, 1998 Advocate.
"Hundreds of residents from East Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes pored over maps of proposed interstate bypass routes Tuesday night to see if the highway would run through their back yards.
Many of the residents stayed late into the evening to voice their concerns about what path the bypass south of Baton Rouge would take. Those who spoke against the suggested routes were roundly applauded."
"Baker said the best chance this area has to pay for the work is through a new highway construction program. U.S. House Infrastructure Chairman Bud Shuster, R-Pa., will select projects for funding by early April."
"Missing that window of opportunity would not upset most of the about 1,000 people who attended a public hearing on the bypass Tuesday night.
Most feared the road would go through their subdivision, wreck the environment or not substantially reduce traffic and wind up being a waste of tax money. Many speakers at the Tuesday forum at the Centroplex suggested Baton Rouge consider expanding its mass transit system to reduce congestion on parts of the interstate through the city.
And while consultants and elected officials plow forward with plans to build an interstate bypass, opposition groups are gathering forces to fight it."

think you might be confusing it with the Sunshine Bridge.
I stand corrected.
No you were correct first time. Sunshine been around much longer. Gramercy was bridge to nowhere.
Sunshine Bridge built by Governor Jimmie Davis was the original bridge to no where.

Thanks, not one to argue but that’s what I thought.
In all fairness when you check the web for Louisiana bridge to nowhere the Sunshine Bridge does come up.

The one in gramercy actually goes to 3127 now. They made that change around 2013 or 2014
