Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but masonary instead of masonry is one that bothers me to no end

This gets to me. It's one of the most difficult things about listening to some country music.
Even though I spent the first 30 years of my life in southern Louisiana, it took my move to Houston to hear how retarded that accent/dialect sounds.
Since the goal in speaking is to have other people understand you and not be distracted by outside the mainstream speech noises, mine corrected over time.
Now I find myself distracted by the way my MIL and her sisters speak to each other. I notice it appears the older generation has it worse than the younger generation, where it's barely recognizeable.

laziness? takes a little more effort to pronounce "ask" correctly.

Ever talked to a white chick with money born and raised in Baton Rouge? It is impossible for them to pronounce an H properly. Like the word Home comes out as yahhhome. Somehow they place a type of West Coast valley girl emphasis on the H but they're not from Cali, they're from the armpit of South Louisiana

My wife who is an intelligent white lady with otherwise good grammar always uses the word “cent” in the singular no matter how many she’s referring to. It drives me nuts.

Because they know the key to my heart and how to cook old school Southern food.
