People acting all aghast because someone dusted their crawfish just makes them look like fanatical queers.
Sounds like something a real fanatical queer would say. Just saying.

In my experience it’s mostly in the SWLA area and then it’s mostly in restaurants where it’s easier to control the seasoning levels when you’re cooking many batches.

My experience as well - in the area just past Lafayette to Lake Charles. I've had it like that nowhere else.

I don’t hate it personally. I think folks dramatically overstate how terrible it must be but I don’t personally cook them this way.

I agree, I'd rather the more traditional but for me still edible. Burns the lips a bit with the seasoning on the outside - I don't care for that.

The Yankees in Shreveport do this. Some places will even bring you a little cup of crab boil on the side if you ask for extra spicy. Not sure the logic..

I only know of one place in town that dusts. I hate it and won't go there. What place brings you a cup of crab boil on the side?

When asked, they say well you taste it on your lips so same thing.

He ran them through a grader and washed them thoroughly prior to cooking them. I thought this was about how to season and/or cook them?

Ive had all the BR crawfish I could handle. Lived there for 11 years. "Oh the first batch isnt seasoned right, yet. Kinda bland."
"Oh the last batch is always way more spicy!"
"You need to salt them to make them puke up their guts and get cleaned out."
Its a bunch of bologna.
When my BR friends came eat crawfish at my parents' house, they learned.

My dad's were easier, faster, more consistant from batch to batch, and better.

Is it as fanatical as some queer who replies to a guy's post 5 days after the fact?

I double season my crawfish. Get over it.

Dusting is ok as long as you also cook crawfish properly in seasoned water. If you like extra heat I understand dusting for the purpose of making the corn, potatoes, etc really hot
