It’s an inviting way to say stop on by neighbors, have a bite and say hello.

I'm not worried about wasting a beer, I enjoyed half of it and it was my first time trying it.

Point was I grill up front and I'm not black. Pics were for reference.

Thanks for the info though baw, I'll read that later. Long article.

Only time i ever have a problem with it is when i'm out exercising and they're cooking.

Give in to your inner fatboy and walk (don't jog) over for a bite. You'll be happier.

I always thought this was normal to BBQ in the front, wave to the neighbors as they walked/drove by, or had a conversation over a beer with one of the neighbors.

It is. The OT is overrun with neurotic people who think a front yard should show no signs of life..

Yeah, I have no idea why people have a problem with this.

I grill in the backyard because there’s more shade. But if that weren’t true I might grill out front myself.

Front yard just seems trashy and a bit invasive to the neighborhood.

And is this mostly a black phenomenon?

Yes. Burn a big cross in your front yard to show you're with the program.

Amazingribs is absolutely ridiculous with its cooking science.

Btw you got some nice skylines/horizons there.

If you're overly paranoid about what neighbors think and are trying hard to fit in, probably so.

I don’t really have neighbors where I live.

Probably a good thing.

My backyard faces west and it’s hot AF back there. If I’m going to be grilling for a while I wheel the pit to the front and grill in the nook between my garage and the house, or just in the driveway.

There's a Latino family on a corner lot of my street that does front yard BBQs all the time.

And yes, they park their trucks in the yard too.

My dad's reason was the crap that dripped out the bottom. He wanted that to happen in the little ditch in the driveway so it would run off into the street ditch.

I personally prefer to grill in my backyard. I assume that when people grill in the front yard, they are okay if you come over to chat and then they will offer you some food.

In America, in certain parts we have forgotten what it's like to be neighborly and cordial. Sometimes, its just cool to go commune with the neighbor, drink a beer in the garage, and chat while he grills.
