I'm right behind you at 59 (in 2 weeks) and yes I struggle with getting enough exercise which is why I overdo it in the yard. It's a place where I can get after it and when I'm done I have something to show for it.
Like you I have a fibit that minutes AFib events so far so good but like taking a baby aspirin every day why not be proactive about this stuff?
What's the downside to having a health monitor on you 24/7?

I lie about it so people think I’m more active than I am

10k steps is about 5 miles. There's no way the fat chick in my office is walking 5 miles every day and still obese. If i hit just 6-8k steps every day consistently I feel it and i'm in shape. If i nailed 10k every single day I'd be shredded.

Maybe she jiggles and it double counts, lol.
Maybe she moseys about, yet slowly, when not at work.
Maybe she's lying! Who cares?
And walking, 5mi daily, isn't going to shred you necessarily... people have metabolisms that adjust for their usual activity levels.
But, who does it hurt if she revises her numbers?

Steps don’t mean a damn thing. People need to get into a gym or outside doing cardio if they want to lose weight and feel accomplished. It drives me crazy when people say shite like “I walk over 10,000 steps a day but can’t lose weight.” Because you’re not doing anything high intensity! Ugh.
I’ll get off my soapbox now.

Good stuff.
Actually, I had an ablation early on and it kept me out of Afib for 10 years. That and staying in shape, etc.
I'll probably get another ablation in the next 12 months so I can forgo the baby asprin I take daily. No other meds. But per my doctor, my health otherwise is good (low BP, heart rate) that they aren't worried. I did retire a year earlier than I had planned just to eliminate stress. But I don't need a pacemaker or anything like that at this point.
Good luck to you.
