I don't know what you do, but assuming the alternative for you would be having to be in a office...is being at a stuffy, boring office, with people that you are forced to be around really qualify as being "out in the world?"
if work from home works for you, that's great and i'm happy for you, but there's not much i'm less interested in than spending an additional 40-60 hours at my house M-F.

My wife has had opportunities in career to work from home. She says that she'll stay home all day when she decides she's done but she enjoys taking care of ICU patients.
I would be cool with her working from home or retiring because it would make my life easier when catching shad at 4 am.
But her choice and working from home isn't for everyone.

I’ve been at home for 2 weeks now. Couldn’t imagine working from home. I’d be 300 pounds.

I 100% support WFH initiatives - makes my job as a cross country trucker easier without as many commuters on the road.

They basically are trying to replace us with low wage workers but keep just enough US workers to keep quality high enough to be acceptable to clients.

Newsflash
Those same people also suck working from an office. They can just hide it better when in a physical office environment. When Karen from accounting was WFH she was wasting hours each day watching the crown on Netflix. When in the office she’s wasting the same amount of time online shopping and talking/bothering people in the cubicle.
At least when I work from home I’m not subjected to those annoyances.

Plenty of people suck working from an office too. If you're a shitty worker, chances are you're just a shitty worker. That's a management problem at that point.

There's serious data concerns about off shoring data, ignoring whether it's legal or not depending on the data and industry. Some of our clients specifically include in their T&C's that data can't be offshored
My partner literally brought this up to me the other day. I get it too. I’m in wait and see mode on the concept for our profession Mingo. For now, I’m finding the help I need so I’m not paying it much mind.

Why do so many remote workers get butt hurt when they are told to return to their offices?

Because spending 40+ hours in an office each week is pointless. Especially when I can (and prefer to) do it from home while also taking care of other responsibilities and getting to see my kids more. I could give a frick about spending more time in office with phony arse people who slack no matter where they work.

Some of us don't mind going into a location, then again..I never complain about what I do and feel like I'm right where I belong.

I’ve always worked from home being in sales. Have to keep a home office. Haven’t worked in an office setting in 12 years

25 here. I have zero problem with WFH if people get their work done.
