The same could be said about Shakespeare, but no one shits on him.
At least in wrestling, the winners change from time to time. However, I've yet to see Richard III go over. He always does the job after cutting a promo about a horse.

WWE =\= wrestling as in pro wrestling over the last 70 years on television we've determined that much right?
I mean WWE is entertaining.. Steve Austin beating Vince and his title opponents around, Undertaker throwing Mick Foley around off the top a steel cage.. Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels an hour for the title at wrestlemania what other brand name presents that?

I attended Wrestlemania 30 in the Superdome in New Orleans. Was one of the top 5 most entertaining live events I’ve ever been too.

Same reason we watch NFL. Talented athletes and good plot lines. The writers in WWE and owners in NFL know the end results before the matches/games, but we don’t. Good drama in both even if the outcomes are predetermined.

Humans are EXTREMELY susceptible to storytelling. We love to suspend our belief. WWE is just soap opera for dudes.
It's just a microcosm of the larger national story we are being told. We eat it up to the point of many letting it drive their life. It's just like WWE storylines only on the national stage. Each side has their heroes and villains, and everyone is on the edge of their seat to discover the next act.
