Yeah, it's really going to suck. Don't even know why I'm bothering going.

I've actually heard Iceland is one of those places that you want to go twice: once in the winter and once in the summer. Because the landscape is so drastically different at each point of the year.

I usually say that if I've visited somewhere, I don't want to go there again simply because there are too many other places to see, but I have a feeling I will want to book a summer trip to Iceland as well.

Yeah, I did "have" to move here. But not for work, I had a fine job in LA.

But, and this will shock you, LA doesn't have a university as good as Harvard, so when my wife got into grad school we took the opportunity and left.

And no, I don't drive a truck. And I didn't when I lived in LA either. But I also don't work offshore nor do I need to buy a big vehicle to overcompensate for anything. But you do you, baw.

Not every tech employee is a coder making $450K, for every one of those there are 50 other people making less than $90K.

So grad school = job?

We both wanted out of LA, and it made it easy to pick Boston.

I now live in a better city, have a much higher paying job, and enjoy life more than I did living in BR.

But sorry for being smart enough to marry someone smart enough to get into Harvard, I guess.

Rent. Would be about the same with a mortgage in this area but found a good deal with a landlord in his mid 80s.
