I drove a few hundred miles yesterday and not one F150 passed me. I was trying to keep it at 86, but I had to go much faster to clear traffic a few times. Passed more cars in the right lane than I did in the left. People are idiots. They merge onto the interstate, immediate shift into the left lane and simply never get out. I assume everyone is being inconsiderate on purpose and blaze by them. The ones who speed up get dusted. Yea, right…you’ll go 85 for a bit, but the next time there’s a truck on the right lane we’ll be going 78…nope. If you’ll go 85 let’s see if you’ll go 105.

I’ve noticed this as well. F-150 drivers are often like the better insured version of the clapped out Nissan Altima drivers. This is especially true if the truck is lifted - they are almost guaranteed to do something stupid behind the wheel.

Lifted F-250 and Ram drivers are basically like meth’d out dump truck drivers. Impulsive, stupid, AND broke. These guys are some of the worst ones on the road.

Tundra, Sierra, and Silverado drivers - y’all are more likely a bunch of old farts. If Lincoln still sold cars y’all’s be in a Town Car with your socks up to your knees and your off brand polo shirts. Y’all are okay if you can stay out of the left lane.

All of the above are better on average than the urban Nissan driver. Or like 40% or big rig drivers these days too.

If they are, they repress those bad feelings until the next truck stop.

Since the 150 sells more than 200,000 units a year than the vehicle in second place, the couch on wheels Silverado, you expected what? You don't notice the third highest selling vehicle, the RAV-4, because they're too busy driving 15% under the speed limit with their seat shoved so far up to the steering wheel they could lick it without moving, but they're a huge danger too.

You probably gasp and grab your husband's knee if someone flashes their brights at you to get over as you cruise in the left lane doing 1mph under the speed limit.

And nobody, and I mean nobody, that's not a semi-driver checks their mirrors, ever, so let's be all inclusive on stupid drivers.

I have 1/2 ton truck and drive fast but have always been considered an aggressive driver by the wifey. Guess at this point in my life I just happen to drive a truck.

If semi drivers check their mirrors, they don’t care what’s in them. The quality of the average semi truck driver has collapsed in the last 20 years.

The actual answer that this board will hate is that half-ton pickups are usually driven by really impulsive aggressive men who don't think things through.

Well yeah.

Having to hurry up and get over requires me to check my surroundings and decelerate pretty quickly. Might even need to downshift

It's an annoyance

If I’m in the “passing” lane, you refer to as the left lane, and someone is approaching, WHY would you DECELERATE to move over to the right lane.
If you would increase your speed and pass the car in the right lane (as opposed to slowing down and getting behind the slower car) your problem is solved.

You know what is annoying?
18 wheelers turn on their blinker to move in the passing lane, and say frick anyone approaching. We need to fine truckers for casually driving in the passing lane.

Not sure if Ridgeline drivers fit here, but the handful I've seen definitely fit with the Tundra, Sierra, and Silverado drivers - overly cautious, sort of keeping up with traffic, and older than average. Probably listening to conservative talk radio or Rogan podcasts.

Tacomas are either young drivers or old men. Similar to Tundra drivers. Frontier, Colorado, and Ranger drivers fit that bill too.

I don’t know about the other brands, but the Fords that were passing you were probably in a hurry to get to the shop before their truck broke down

I typically drive around 75mph on the interstate

So 10 under the posted speed limit here in Texas. If you're not going 90, stay in the right lane.
