What a passive aggressive way of saying "I ride the left lane and don't like moving over".

Truck drivers are the most annoying assholes on the road. Compensating for something.

The actual answer that this board will hate is that half-ton pickups are usually driven by really impulsive aggressive men who don't think things through.

What?

You did a survey?

I would think just the opposite…

People usually buy pickups for the use... I bought mine to pull my boat and put gear in the back. People use them for hunting and fishing usually have a plan, only impulsive decisions would be a last minute hunting or fishing trip and that usually comes with a plan.

Nailed it.

Nicotine is rage fuel.

If I can go at least 70 in the right lane, that's where I stay, even if I'd really rather go 75. I emphasized in my post that I try very hard to be courteous. However, on a busy interstate, you really can't go 70 in the right lane. There are too many vehicles doing 60-65.

Maybe that's the real problem: vehicles that should really be on US Highway 80 instead of I-20.

What we end up with is a lane that's really great for people who want to drive as fast as they can, and another for people who want to drive really slow, and it's totally dysfunctional. There's no lane for people who just want to drive at a quick but safe speed.

Now, I used to just drive as fast as possible. Made it from Atlanta to Long Beach, MS in under four hours once. I wouldn't mind living in a world without speed limits.

The reason I don't drive that fast anymore is that every time you cross a state line, there are dozens of little legal changes that happen. They're around things like firearms, and pot, and all of the quasi-pot-like gummy bear crap that people eat, and even things like allowable equipment and when you have to use your headlights. A simple speeding ticket isn't simple anymore. The cops are likely to see your out-of-state license plates and waste a bunch of time determining if you're out-of-compliance with any of their stupid little fiefdom's petty laws.

The left lane is for passing. If you're not passing someone, get over. Your "annoyance" at following traffic laws is irrelevant.

Then, I'm trapped in the right lane while Richard Petty and all the various vehicles drafting behind him make their way past me.

So it's not just the 1/2 ton pickups going faster than you, it's a whole line of cars. You're the reason the law exists. Blocking up the whole interstate while you check out clouds with your wife. Go drive on a country road if you want to take a leisurely Sunday cruise.

You’re an a-hole. You shouldn’t be mostly in the left lane. The left lane is for passing. You should mostly be in the right lane and quit driving like an entitled a-hole.

Who do you see wrecked on the interstate more often, trucks or cars and SUV's?

Not me, I cruise at 72 on the interstate in the right lane. The better question is why do so many people drive under 70 in the right lane? I am constantly having to use the left lane to pass the slow pokes going 65 while dodging the speeders going 85+

80+ or

Left lane doesn't have a speed limit other than it should be faster than those in the right lane. No one in the right lane, you shouldn't be in the left lane. Even if you are driving 80+, you shouldn't be camped out in the left lane.
