Why do people cover their license plate when selling a car on FB

Some people when selling cars on Facebook groups they cover their license plate. What the hell are they expecting to happen? Doesn't everybody driving on the road see your license plate daily? This pisses me off

Driving the streets with your plate covered up is illegal, so why does it need to be covered in a picture?

Most people don't want to post their license plate or other personal info on craigslist and risk randoms showing up at their house uninvited. They prolly used the same pics on facebook.

It aggravates the hell out of me too....its like they are trying to hide their identity when you name town and usually phone number is right above it!!!

Because a Title Search may be run with Tag Number, revealing personai info, like name & address.
