Exactly. I flew from Madrid to JFK in business class in September for 18000 Amex points. That’s a $2000 minimum plane ticket for pennies on the dollar.

Or I could have gotten $270 cash back at a .015 cash back redemption. I wonder which one was the better value?

I use mine for everything too. I can’t afford to pay it off every month but at least I get that cash back.

And this is what they count on. If you're paying interest, it's a net loss.

Same reason why women do.

Citi has 2% cash back flat.

False. You get 1% when you spend and 1% once you pay it off.

If it's electronic, it can wear out. Just with age.

Plus, like the article mentioned, it's an added security feature.

Plus, it's a checkpoint for the card issuer to review your account. More times than not, a replacement card has come with a limit increase.

Amex points are that valuable? I've been missing out. I've got 195k ultimate rewards I've been saving up. Do I need to switch to using Amex?

1:4 to 1 transfer to British Air Avios. Transfer Avios to Iberia Airlines 1:1. Use the 32000 Iberia Avios on off peak time to fly business class from Madrid to JFK. It’s all in where you transfer and when you fly. A lot of airlines have great redemptions.

Using Avios I can fly from Dulles to Miami for 7500 Avios one way on a Saaver award in economy on American.

I had round trip in First Class on Aeromexico from Mexico City to Buenos Aires for 93750 Amex points total but had to cancel the trip because of business.

I get a new Chase card every 2-3 months. Something is wrong with their cards. I'm prob going to switch banks. I have been stranded over the weekend without a working card, won't even work at ATMs.

My credit card with a chip never has malfunctioned.

Well yeah, I'm kind of assuming you're going to pay the bill.

The wife and I use it for everything possible. Pay the statement balances off every month, so don’t pay any interest.

This right here is how credit cards are used by smart people.

The post right after it where he doesn’t pay in full every month is the opposite

Are you saying that the air friction from waving the card over the reader wears the chip out?

I take advantage of every break I can get. If someone offered to lower all of your bills by 1.5% without costing you anything, I guess you wouldn’t take it then.

I would take them. But several companies offer to lower my bills by even more...congrats on the 1.5% though
