If it's electronic, it can wear out. Just with age.

Plus, like the article mentioned, it's an added security feature.

Plus, it's a checkpoint for the card issuer to review your account. More times than not, a replacement card has come with a limit increase.

I get a new Chase card every 2-3 months. Something is wrong with their cards. I'm prob going to switch banks. I have been stranded over the weekend without a working card, won't even work at ATMs.

My credit card with a chip never has malfunctioned.

I tell you what, they are non-edible long before their expiration date.

I would take them. But several companies offer to lower my bills by even more...congrats on the 1.5% though
