It just seems like men have become more whiny. A lot of 'em seem less willing to assume a leadership role, especially in the home.
I'm pretty old-school though, so it's probably just me.

Women are more likely than men to tie their happiness and self worth directly with their looks.
A very attractive woman has likely gone through her life getting things and hearing recognition and compliments about her looks. She may or may not have to work hard or use her brain to get what she wants.
An unattractive woman may have had to work hard and gets a feeling of accomplishment based on merit, not physical attraction.
I would guess it's something along those lines

they are used to trading on their looks and sexual attraction.
they know that when the looks and sexual appeal are gone, the deals they make now will stop and men with money and looks will choose other, younger women.

The rules for men and unattractive women are pretty egalitarian. They both generally have to earn their own money.

Is this question for real? For many very attractive women it's their only currency so of course they are going to obsess about it. It's not much different than bodybuilders, those clowns are the most insecure knuckleheads on the planet.

Exactly. When men go to a bar or show up at a party what is the first thing they do? They look for the hot chicks. What do attractive women do when they first show up at a bar or a party? They look for the hot chicks, they want to see who their competition is.
