X was the conduit between The Greatest Generation and The Worst Generation . Stuck between real men and trannies. The last “ outdoor “ generation and the last generation that didn’t have three dozen rules and laws for every human action.

This is how my parents did it. They just worked hard, had many set backs, but continued pushing ahead no matter what, so that my sister, brother, and I (all gen x’ers) could have a better life then they did.
Looking back I’d say my parents accomplished their goal of raising successful kids.
Btw, my mom came to the US at age 3 and my dad at age 18. He overstayed his visa, but worked his way to citizenship.
My grandfather died 4 years ago and I remember him telling me the story of the day he arrived in the US. He said that after he went through customs on 12/7/1958, the customs agents told him, “Mr. Munoz Welcome to America, your new home.” Now my grandfather didn’t speak a lick of English, but remembered that statement for all the days of his life. It meant so much to him.
