Why didn’t Generation X get a catchy nickname?

We have the G.I. generation, the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Millenials, Centennials, and.....................Generation X stuck in the middle of all that. Was there nothing noteworthy that anyone could come up with during that time to describe them??
