The procession wasn't traveling all that fast--the driver of JFK's car even slammed on the brakes after the first shot mistakenly thinking that it was the car backfiring. Also, the school book depository building was right next to the road...not a very far shot to take at all.

He slammed the brakes to give the other sniper(s) a better shot

It looks odd and staged when Oswand is being marched through, but there is no way on Earth he was being walked out to be shot by Jack Ruby. He is surrounded by cops that could have easily caught a through shot or a bone deflection. It is inconceivable that cops marched him out like that knowing he was going to be shot.

As far as the assassination, anyone that knows anything about hunting or shooting that has been to the School Book Depository and stood at the window that is one or two windows down from the actual window (actual window is inside a plexiglass area) can see that LHO passed up an easy shot that was available to him forever to take a pretty difficult shot after he turned the corner and went down the hill towards the underpass.

The few hours I spent there convinced me the only reason to not take the easy shot was because there was a kill box set up. A six year old could have shot Kennedy when he was coming right towards the Depository. The window looks right down the street and Kennedy was coming towards him in a straight line. It's perfect. He supposedly waited and shot him over a tree when he was moving side to side, away from him and slightly downhill?

bullshite.

Because of what Bobby did.

He wore shades to his Senate hearing on racketeering. You don't poke a guy like that with a stick. You hit him over the head with the stick or he is going to hit you.

The biggest mystery is how did 8th grade dropout Oswald, who joined the Marines at 17, who at no time anywhere in his military record was sent to langauge school, show up in Russia, at age 19, speaking Russian (per official documents of both governments), offer military secrets in return for admission into the county, have that fact relayed to the US government - to whom he attempted to relinquish his citizenship, then proceed to live, work, and marry there, and still manage to get the US State Department to pay his way home and then never face charges for abondoning his post as a Marine and offering up secrets to the enemy?

Several mysteries at once, really:
1. How does this teenaged "dumb hick" know Russian?
2. Why did the state department repatriotize a known traitor?
3. Why didn't he face charges for up and leaving the Marines and telling the State Department he was going to give radar secrets to Russia?

This is the shot LHO passed on, and it would have been even better than this because the actual window is 10 or 12 feet to the left:

This is the one he took. The x in the road is the spot. The shot would have been even more difficult than as it looks in this pic because again, the actual window is 10 or 12 feet to the left of this window. The angle shooting to his right would be more pronounced:

He did this because everyone the motorcade had already passed would be looking down the street and directly into his window during the time that Kennedy was moving down that street. He didn't want to be seen. After it makes the turn, the attetion is away from him and he can make the easy shot. The tree was much smaller then.

Then you just don't appreciate the difficulty of the shot. It isn't impossible or anything like that, but I think there was some luck in what he was able to do with that shot.

We're talking about a guy that couldn't hit a stationary Walker on level ground with a clear shot.

Having been there a year ago for the first time, it really changed my view on things. It is really a compact area. It isn't spread out. Everything is right on top of everything else.

My takeaway was not how difficult the shot was. I know my way around rifles and ping a good bit. It wouldn't be that difficult of a shot and I'm a long arse way from being a sniper. Whether I could get three off with a bolt action on target is another thing, but the shot is not terribly difficult.

My take away after being there was why did LHO pass on the easy shot?

Back and to the left:

If anyone thinks the mob or Castro would have enlisted the fragile eggs that were Oswald and Ruby to possibly pull off this shooting and then cover it up, they are out of their mind.

The mob didn't/doesn't use amateurs on something which could possibly get back to them and threaten their very existence.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct answer. Who killed the Kennedys? It was you and me.

No thanks, I've already been there IN PERSON and seen with my own eyes the approximate same view that LHO saw--don't need a web cam's distorted view to change my mind about it.

I can't tell if people in this thread are trolling or actually making $#!+ up to prove their incorrect beliefs about all this.

When standing in the window next to the plexiglass which is as close as you can get, did you not wonder why LHO didn't shoot him on the approach?

Ruby killing Oswald was a crime of opportunity. He thought he could be a national hero and spare Jackie the trauma of a trial.

Oswald was supposed to be transferred earlier in the morning, like 9 or 10AM IIRC. Ruby was in downtown Dallas sending a money order telegram. He sent it at 11:17 AM, walked the short distance to the police headquarters where just minutes later at 11:21, he shot Oswald. He very easily could have been too late to shoot Oswald.

Sure he may have been thinking about wanting to shoot Oswald prior, (i.e. pre-meditated), but there was no master plan. He happened to be there at just the right time and he took his chance, and single-handedly created much more opportunity for conspiracy theories.

Oswald acted alone.

Everyone would have seen him from that angle, since they were looking forward at the procession...best to shoot from behind (the tree was also much smaller back then and not an obstacle). Also, he probably wanted a close up view of the car's occupants first just to make sure he wasn't wasting shots on Connelly when his primary target was JFK.

Ultimately, probably just needed a moment to take in the whole scene, gather his nerve to shoot the president, and then fired away...

I read this entire thread and there is still no definitive answer to who killed JFK and why. I am disappointed in the OT.

I agree here........ We will never know........ All I know is that I remember my mom and neighbors going crazy.... Screaming and crying... I was three at the time.... It was a tragic day for America. There is no way to measure how popular JFK was back in those days... The ONLY pres I know that was even close was Reagan..............

That makes no sense. None at all. The street incoming toward the Depository wouldn't have lended itself to him being seen on the route at all. The opposite is true. All of the people on the incoming street would have been looking towards the direction of the Depository once the the car turned the corner when the shot was taken.

Your arguments are odd.
