Why did LSU cave on the library renaming so quickly?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the fake controversy would've blown over in a few weeks. People have the attention span of gnats these days

Board of Supervisors are all or mostly Democrats appointed by Edwards. One of the Board Members is a Trial Lawyer and race baiter. Payback for stuffing ballots in Orleans and East Baton Rouge Parish.

They're scared of a long drawn out PR nightmare like what happened at Mizzou and is in the process of happening at UT. They think if they get out ahead of it they can forestall it. Time will tell.
