Cops are seen as being a step above normal citizens by the government, as they are the violent enforcement arm of the government.

It is fricked up that the cops can lie to you but you can be charged for lying to them.

99.9% of the time they aren’t the first ones to become violent. It’s then reacting to the perp

Ok? That doesn’t mean they aren’t the enforcement arm of the state with a license to commit violence.

No context. I was just wondering why it is OK for cops to mislead us while we are charged with perjury if we lie, even if it's accidental, to the police.

Someone has to enforce the laws, even if that means violently at times.

We are seeing across the country crime increase in areas that loosen laws to allow criminals to be criminals

I know it’s a federal crime to lie to an FBI agent but I don’t know if it is against the law to lie to a police officer.

Perjury is only when you lie under oath not simply a lie to the police.
