Why aren’t trashy people interested in dog breeds orher than pit bull mixes?

I saw 2 different groups of 18-21 year olds with babies in tow, obviously unemployed, flat billed hats, super baggy & long shorts, etc...you know the kind. Both parties had a pit bull puppy each.
Why do you never see these folks with lab mixes or beagles?

Labs aren't free for the most part. I can go to my county shelter right now and scoop up a pair of pit bulls.

And they are usually infested with worms b/c they don’t give them proper care. ( The dogs. Maybe the people too )

This. Any purebred good breed of dog is gonna cost at least a few hundred bucks
