What’s the difference between giving individuals a check and giving small businesses money that if used to pay employees is forgiven?
Seems to me the end result is the same, the employee gets paid.

I own my own business with zero debt and a pile of money in the bank. borrowing money is not a requirement for running a business

my point is: some, a lot of businesses will not get back to profiting/earning enough in the next 4 months to keep their current staff they are being told to keep paying. So when that 4 months runs out, we will see an increase in unemployment. I’m not saying this isn’t a necessary evil, I’m just pointing out a likely result.
