re: Why are there so few regular cab trucks anymore?

Yup, more people...less concentration on the road. No real options outside of sports car or a regular cab truck. Oh well. I still have a year, I just started looking and was kind of shocked. Thought access cab was an option too, but not really.

Single cabs are pure evil.

Shocker, I know, but they’re an undesirable vehicle.

Yesterday’s Impalas and LTDs are now Silverado’s and F150s

car design improved and trucks became comfortable rides
that's why you see so many super nice, super expensive ones with shite like huge rims

They have one on there, it’s a beauty.

I bought my son a 1996 F150 Single Cab Short bed 4x4 with a manual transmission, because like you I didn't want him driving a lot of people around. I also wanted his hands to be to busy to be on his phone, and I didn't want him to let his friends drive it "figured the stick would solve this problem".

If you see one jump on it and let it sit if you have too. They hard to find. Be warned they hold their value really well so get ready to pay.

in the 80s you couldn't find an extra cab, much less a crew cab. Market has completely reversed.

that truck looks like it has microcephaly
Posted on 3/9/21 at 8:28 am to TexasTiger
Right on, I’d kill to find him a manual. He drives mine, albeit not well yet.

I figured truck buying was all a dick measuring contest...that’s the real fricking reason they don’t make them anymore. Guys are too worried about being judged by other men to purchase simply what they need.

Trucks are now family cars. Space is needed for trips.

Women started buying Jeeps, 4Runners, FJs, and other SUVs.
Insecure men had to retreat to pickup trucks as the last safe space for their fragile masculinity. When they got married and started having kids, they needed the features of an SUV but the didn't have the chest to buy a Honda Pilot.
Automakers, ever aware of their customer's needs, began optioning out trucks with all the cheap Chinese luxury of a knockoff Louis Vuitton and plenty of space in the back for the kids. This isn't a minivan vroom vroom Wanna hear about my towing capacity?

Cause who the frick wants that?

A 16 yr old. I’d have been happy as a pig in shite with this:

probably have to buy a fleet truck, and available colors will probably be ....white, am/fm radio, roll up windows, vinyl floor, and that's about it
